Convergence

Convergence is the networking term meaning the time taken for synchronisation of the routing tables of the routers within a network. In other words how long it takes for all the routers to be aware of the new network topology. Since routers cannot forward information until convergence has taken place, it's important that networks converge as quickly as possible.
